Just a short note to express to you my appreciation of your Body Blocker short and long form products.
As the parent of a young man that has sustained a spinal cord injury we have experienced a great deal of frustration in effectively repositioning him in order to avoid pressure sores. Using traditional pillows we have been unable to consistently keep him in the various desired positions necessary to maintain the integrity of his skin.
During our son's stay in the neuro rehabilitation unit at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix, AZ we were introduced to Body Blockers. They have proven to be the solution to our frustrations.
Body Blockers keep our son in the necessary positions for the necessary amount of time to assure the avoidance of sores. Rather than attempting to fold and "stuff" traditional pillows under our son, strategic placement of a couple of Body Blockers effectively helps our son to maintain the various positions during the night to protect against sores.
We are relieved that we can now effectively manage this important aspect of our son's long-term health. We cannot be without our Body Blockers. |

As a quadraplegic it is important that your body is always rotating while sleeping. You need to rotate your position from back to right side and left side. Using a prop to keep your body on its side is a good way to keep the body from rolling back. This pillow works awesome for this purpose! It's round for the whole back and is thick enough that the body won't roll over the pillow. I used this product in the hospital and at home and was such a great help. |

Dear John,
This letter is written to attest to the beneficial effects we have experienced with your product Body Blockers.
After many years of in home care, my father became accustomed to using bed pillows along with various Home Health Care products to help adjust body positions. These props became necessary not only in the bed, but also with chair and wheel chair positioning.
Once the Body Blocker became available, it became the most important element in the healing process of very severe Decubitus Ulcers. With the Body Blocker we were able to make the necessary adjustments to body positions to insure comfort and to reduce pressure to any given point of the body.
After two successful years using your product, I would strongly advocate its use in any necessary Health Care situation.

Dear John Rice:
Thank you for sending me the complementary "Body Blockers" pillows. They are a big help in positioning me in bed. I expect this product will be quite popular and be in great demand by people who require such assistance.
As a quadriplegic, I have had some problems with bed sores. Folded pillows have been the only supports used both at home and in the hospitals. Often, I would be carefully positioned to keep my weight off a problem area only to have the pillows slide out. I would be left lying on the affected area. The "Body Blockers" products eliminate this problem. Once positioned with a "Body Blockers" pillow, the body does not move.
I know hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers and individuals with spinal injuries can all benefit greatly from your product. Even babies could be positioned properly in their cribs.
I wish you the best in marketing this long awaited solution for a neat and secure positioning tool. Please feel free to contact me if I can ever be of any assistance. Very Truly Yours,
Thomas E. Haffner

"BODY BLOCKERS": A Review
Thank you for the opportunity to try the "Body Blockers" pillow cases personally. This unique approach to facilitating maintenance of body alignment and positioning, indeed, is exciting and has great merit. There is no doubt that positioning patients in bed and/or chair can be a major undertaking, and not always one with a positive outcome despite the effort put forth.
In our clinical areas, many of the pillows available, especially those with a vinyl-like covering, do not stay in place. They lack having a tab or flap that can be tucked under the patient so as to keep the pillow from sliding out. Whether positioning patients on their side, or preventing abduction of the hip, this is a very positive feature of your product.
The use of double case to prevent adduction following hip surgery, for example, would appear to be more comfortable for patient than the triangular vinyl-covered foam adductors currently in use in our facility.
The fact that the pillow cases are reusable and store easily are positive features. Our facility found it cost-effective to use "re-usable" underpads while at the same time complying with infection control and OSHA regulations.
Overall, I like the products and agree with the rationales for their use. It occurred to me that different colors or patterns might make the product more aesthetically pleasing, providing this wouldn't add to the cost of the product.
If I can be of any assistance as you develop your prospectus, please let me know. Best of luck!

I wanted to take the time to thank you for your pillows. I had shoulder surgery February 2000 for a torn supersanada in my left shoulder and a full rotator cuff on my right shoulder. Before I started using your pillows I could not get comfortable in bed. Once I began using them, I sleep much more comfortably. My shoulder can be extended and protected from my rolling over and possibly dislocating it. I use them every night as well as when I travel. I also gave your leg immobilizer to a friend with a broken leg who told me she was able to sleep "like a baby" while in a full leg and hip cast.
Your product is truly a blessing to help give me a full night's sleep, every night.
